What’s mindfulness?
You may already be aware of this growing field, but in a nutshell: Mindfulness is being aware of the present moment, while calmly accepting your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.
Mindfulness programs, which often encompass yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques, are now in high demand throughout the world. With the high-stress kids and teens are now facing, this course is more powerful than ever.
Here at Pretzel Kids®, we bring mindfulness into every class we teach.
Knowing how important this is to the overall well-being of children, we are thrilled to now offer this exclusive course!
What will you learn?
You’ll gain in-depth knowledge into what mindfulness is, and you’ll then learn how to teach these techniques.

I bet you’re now thinking: What if I have zero experience in yoga and meditation?
Good question!
The answer: No experience needed! YOU can teach these mindfulness tools using our easy-to-follow videos and resources.
What will I learn?
We’ll start by diving into what mindfulness means and how you can help children develop mindful habits that will last a lifetime. Pretzel Kids mindfulness expert Patricia Chilangwa will then guide you through a video tutorial on how to bring mindfulness into your classroom, yoga program, or home.
Patricia is uniquely qualified to teach this mindfulness course. A yogini since 2000, she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Boston College and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Mindfulness Studies at Lesley University. She draws on her years of experience as a preschool and elementary school teacher to design and implement developmentally-appropriate curricula for children of all ages and abilities.
Patricia is joined by our founder, Robyn Parets, who will lead you through a series of specific pranayama (breathing) techniques and visualizations (meditations). These tools will give you a treasure chest of mindfulness options for the kids you work with.
But that’s not all: You’ll get our guide with proprietary pranayama techniques - so you can start teaching these right away. You’ll also receive our resources on teaching mindfulness to children and teens, as well as additional resources from the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Are you ready to join the Pretzel Kids yoga revolution?
We thought so!

“The Pretzel Kids teacher training was fantastic! It was my catalyst for getting involved with youth fitness.
Since I took the course, I have taught kids yoga classes at the Boys and Girls club, elementary schools, community centers, and centers for kids with special needs. I have also taught classes for Girl Scout troops and private sessions.
The training and manual effectively teaches how to adjust the curriculum to various age groups. Robyn has been an excellent and supportive mentor and is always there to answer a question or give advice.
I have seen kids of all ages and abilities excel and love the classes as Pretzel Kids is so much fun!"
-Becky E. of New York

“As both an educator and yogini, I was amazed by the high quality of the Pretzel Kids approach, which combines the best in age-appropriate pedagogical practice with genuine yoga principles and techniques.
I got all the tools necessary to begin teaching right away and all the kids I have worked with have loved the PK experience!”
– Sarah B. of Israel

Your Instructor

Hi everyone! I'm Robyn & I'm so happy to be here with you! I'm a parent, yogi, mindfulness teacher and the founder of Pretzel Kids.
I started my career as a journalist with publications like the Los Angeles Times and Investor’s Business Daily (IBD). An unplanned detour while on a travel writing assignment in China led me to a meditation teacher. (Want to know the full story? I got seriously ill in China – the scariest time of my life. I was eventually diagnosed with a neurological disorder that left me bedridden with two young kids for almost two years).
Sorry to digress...That meditation teacher turned out to be a bigwig who wrote a book with the Dalai Lama. Upon the advice of my sorta famous teacher, I began to practice yoga and three years later, I became a yoga teacher and opened a studio!
I sold the studio in 2016 to focus solely on growing Pretzel Kids and helping YOU learn to teach yoga and mindfulness to children. Let's do this!
